Lockyers Insurance has purchased independent broker and Broker Network member, Bernard Saxon General Insurance Services, its first acquisition since becoming an Ethos Broking partner in September 2018.
Established in 1984 and based in Jesmond, Newcastle, Bernard Saxon manages £5.5m in GWP and specialises in UK commercial lines business.
Chairman of Lockyers, Jon Newall said: “Being part of the Ethos has enabled us to complete this first acquisition with a team we have known as part of Broker Network for many years.”
Director of BSIS, Patrick Carney added: “Lockyers was the perfect match for BSIS as we have both been Broker Network members for many years, are similar businesses and share many working practices.
“We have grown the business substantially in recent years and look forward to continuing its growth in the years ahead.”
Established in Wakefield, West Yorkshire in 1981, Lockyers employs 17 people and focuses on commercial lines business, with a focus on the leisure and SME sectors.
As part of the deal, Bernard Saxon owners Patrick Carney and Scott Kinnaird will remain with the business, as well as all eight additional staff members.
