Insurtech Concirrus has named Brian MacInnes (pictured) as its chief analytics officer. He joins from Aon where he spent the past 12 years, most recently focused on building out portfolio solutions and analytics capabilities within the broker’s London Market wholesale insurance business.
The appointment underscores Concirrus’ growth ambitions. Andrew Yeoman, CEO at Concirrus, said: “The industry has embarked on a decade long cycle of investment in data and analytics. Therefore, we wanted to ensure we had within our executive team, experts and leaders that can engage with the chief underwriting officers, the chief data officers and chief analytics officers.
“Brian meets all our criteria and his long and distinguished time with Aon means he brings with him not only a wealth of market expertise but also strong relationships with senior figures across the industry.”
MacInnes added: “Currently, there is often a lack of alignment and subsequent barriers in the partnership that is required between technical data and analytics capabilities and the trading environment, to ensure the business-led development and use of analytics. This also limits the opportunity to maximise the impact from innovation and new technology to drive meaningful change at pace.
“A dynamic and more nuanced approach is required for analytics to be responsive to the reality of demands in the business to deliver value for clients today, whilst simultaneously reflecting the future vision and potential of our industry.”
