IFB details ‘bigger and better’ strategy for fighting fraud

The Insurance Fraud Bureau has outlined its plans for 2023-25 and Jon Radford, head of intelligence, investigations and data services at IFB, has revealed how he wants to drive forward the new strategy with the industry, to help the fraud-prevention organisation to be “bigger and better than ever before”.

Forward Together, which is the new strategy for 2023-25, was recently unveiled by IFB director Ursula Jallow, and sets out plans for how IFB aims to enhance innovations and keep pace with external change.

Radford, who previously headed up the fraud claims team at QBE Europe and led counter-fraud teams across global territories for commercial and personal lines, said: “IFB is at the heart of the UK’s fight against insurance fraud, protecting countless businesses and members of the public from the devastation of fraud each day. But as the nature of economic crime becomes increasingly complex and digitised, it’s vital that we evolve our services so that we can keep pace with change and continue protecting people.

“I believe by being more insurer-focused and diversifying our services to a wider sector, spanning commercial and personal lines, we can broaden our reach to help protect every insurer and their customers. Forward Together is a golden opportunity for our members to help IFB realise its full potential. I’m excited to be collaborating side-by-side with industry partners in delivering our shared vision.”

IFB’s three-year roadmap includes updating technology to enhance efficiency and member experience, improving data quality and reviewing its membership model. The organisation’s priorities are outlined in a new IFB membership framework and technology and data strategy.
