Browne Jacobson partners with Plain Numbers

Insurance law firm Browne Jacobson has struck a three-year deal with social purpose organisation Plain Numbers to assist the insurance market in making its products easier for customers to understand.

Under the deal, Browne Jacobson’s policy drafting and distribution team will be trained as Plain Numbers practitioners. This will give them the tools and skills to advise clients on how to improve their policies and communications to make them easier to understand for customers.

Tim Johnson (pictured), insurance partner at Browne Jacobson, said: “With the increased regulatory focus on customer understanding and fair value brought about by the Consumer Duty, this is the perfect time for us to launch this innovative and exciting partnership.”

Mike Ellicock, co-founder and chief executive of Plain Numbers, added: “We’re delighted that Browne Jacobson is the first legal firm to become a Plain Numbers Partner. This partnership has huge potential to further enhance Browne Jacobson’s evidenced interest in improving the understanding of their documents for the reader.”
