Specialist re/insurer Apollo has appointed Angus Winther (pictured) as chair of board for Apollo Syndicate Management Limited. He is currently a non-executive director of Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc and its parent Benefact Group plc, and was previously a non-executive director of Hiscox Syndicates Limited.

The move follows the retirement of Julian Cusack as chair of ASML, although he remains chair of Apollo Group Holdings.

David Ibeson, CEO of Apollo Group, said: “I am pleased to welcome Angus to the ASML Board. His expertise across insurance and corporate finance will play an important role as our business continues to grow in new and existing areas.
