ARAG Group has agreed terms with ERGO Versicherung AG to buy its legal protection insurance business in the UK, DAS UK. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is for an undisclosed amount.

In 2022, ARAG Group said its UK operations, run via ARAG plc as a managing general agent, reported gross written premium under management of £61m.

DAS UK includes a legal expenses insurance company (DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited) and a law firm servicing legal expense claims (DAS Law Limited). In 2022, DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited has gross written premiums of £129m.
