Brokers target commercial motor market

Three quarters of brokers saw an increase in commercial motor business last year and 90% say they will see growth in commercial motor over the coming year according to data from the latest Broker Barometer from Direct Commercial Limited.

The research found that 83% of brokers had concerns over a lack of capacity for commercial motor business, particularly in the haulage, waste disposal and courier markets.

It also highlighted the service levels required to win business in this market and found that almost half (46%) of brokers expect underwriters to respond within 24 hours to a new business query, and 42% require a response within 72 hours.
