The Insurance Institute of London has announced that Dominick Hoare (pictured) has been elected as president for 2023/24. Hoare is the group chief underwriting officer of the Munich Re Syndicate (formerly the Watkins Syndicate), which is managed by Munich Re Syndicate Ltd.
He is also a director of Lloyd’s Market Association, a past chairman of both the Offshore Energy Committee of the International Union of Marine Insurers and the Joint Rig and Associated Business Committee in the London market, and until recently was a member of the Executive Committee of the International Union of Marine Insurers. He is a member of the Council of Lloyd’s, the Lloyd’s ESG Committee and the Underwriting Advisory Group.
He said: “It’s a great privilege to take on the presidency of our institute and to do so at such a fascinating time for both the insurance industry and the world.
“At times like these we are reminded of the value of stable partners, and the IIL has a vital role to play in supporting all of our clients through such periods.”
