IMS (Insurance & Mobility Solutions), which specialises in vehicle and driving data, has teamed up with High Mobility, which is a data provider to automotive manufacturers. The companies said the collaboration was in response to growing demand from the insurance industry for more data from embedded telematic devices in vehicles.

Katharina Roecker, lead manager of strategic projects and customer development at High Mobility, added: “Many players previously overestimated or over-promised what they could deliver and did not satisfactorily resolve critical issues like customer consent management. We are focused on moving OEM data use to being a question of ‘when’, not ‘if’, for insurers and their customers.”
