Online and social media intelligence specialist NetWatch Global is developing an open-source intelligence key risk indicator – OSINT-KRI – to support underwriters in identifying high-risk customers. The technology can be used in real time at the point of quote and is due to launch for BETA testing in the new year.

David Purcell, co-founder and chief operating officer at NetWatch, said: “The internet is home to a wealth of open-source intelligence, from social media accounts to website and blogs, all of which can be used to investigate claims and create highly personalised customer risk profiles. OSINT-KRI is designed to reduce insurers’ exposure to risk by minimising the chance of insuring undesirable customers.”
