Sunderland-based 1st UK Broking, which is part of iRevolution Group, is to open an office in Stoke-on-Trent in 2024. The broker is a fleet market specialist and is planning to expand its focus to cover a broader range of commercial lines – initially cover for roofers and scaffolders – and to give it a wider base from which to recruit talent.

As part of its expansion into Stoke-on-Trent, the business will launch a 4-day working week to all staff interested, as well as hybrid working allowing for recruitment to cover a wider area.

Stuart Crosby, managing director at 1st UK Broking, said: “We know that there is a wealth of insurance knowledge around Stoke-on-Trent and beyond which makes it a great location for a new office. We are hoping to see applicants from the North-West, Midlands and even North Wales who are willing to make the commute to Stoke-on-Trent once a week to further their career.”
