Howden acquisition underpins launch of new division

Intermediary Howden has penned an agreement to acquire the insurance and financial services consulting team at Hymans Robertson LLP. The deal also sees the launch of Howden Insurance Actuarial and Longevity, broadening the scope of expertise the firm can offer to clients. Howden said the new division would combine the Hymans Robertson LLP team as well as the personnel brought on board following the Barnett Waddingham acquisition in Q1 2025.

Howden said its new division, which comprises around 90 people, would provide insurers with support in areas such as pricing, capital allocation, reserving, risk and investment strategy, model validation and the management of longevity risk.

Scott Eason, managing partner of Howden Insurance Actuarial and Longevity, said: “Today is a milestone moment for our business. By uniting two outstanding teams, we are creating an advisory capability with the breadth and depth to support every critical client need across the insurance landscape. This is a significant step in Howden’s long term ambition to build a world class insurance advisory practice.”
