Managing general agent Alps has teamed up with Nuvalaw, which provides resolution and arbitration services. Alps says the partnership will help drive faster, proportionate settlements and generate better outcomes for clients.
Alps points to data from the Ministry of Justice which states that average small claims now take more than 40 weeks to reach trial while multi-track cases take 62 weeks. It says Nuvalaw’s resolution-as-a-service proposition will help settle cases without them going to court.
Michelle O’Reilly, managing director at Alps, said: “Arbitration provides a fast and fair route for resolving disputes without the need for unnecessary litigation, especially in cases where the issues are narrow, the evidence is complete and the costs disproportionate to the sums in dispute.
“It also keeps the best interests of the policyholder front of mind, progressing claims efficiently, transparently and ensuring they receive damages in full without delay; something that has long eroded trust in the market. We’ve already proven the use case with a recent personal injury claim resolved in just 24 hours.”
