Zurich UK has appointed Sam Thomas as chief underwriting officer, following a period in the role on an interim basis. She will oversee underwriting strategy across the UK property and casualty business.

Thomas has worked at Zurich for almost eight years, most recently as head of retail underwriting and previously as head of mid-market. Before joining Zurich, she held senior positions at Axa UK and Allianz and has more than 20 years of industry experience.
