QBE in 24-hour UK shutdown

QBE is to close its UK offices tomorrow (Wednesday) in order to test the resilience of its business continuity plans, forcing all of its employees to work from home.

The company said the 24-hour closure of all of its UK offices will start on Wednesday 18 March (midnight-midnight) and includes its European operations headquarters in London as well as regional offices.

In a statement the insurer said: “During this time, no visitors will be permitted to our UK offices. To help test our resilience we would like to encourage our customers to keep scheduled meetings by conducting them virtually.”

The insurer added that it did not expect any interruption to its services or its customers as a result of the test.
