The Jensten Group has acquired Shipley-based, mid-market specialist broker Sydney Packett & Sons, for an undisclosed sum.
Packetts celebrated its centenary in 2020. It handles gross written premium of £13m and focuses on the commercial, not-for-profit and training sectors.
The deal is Jensten’s third acquisition in the last eight months as it tries to boost GWP from around £230m to £500m in the next three to five years.
Alistair Hardie (pictured), CEO at Jensten Group, said: “This acquisition underlines that we are the natural home for entrepreneurial mid-market and specialist community brokers keen to protect and build on their hard-earned legacy and who want to ensure both staff and clients remain central to the business.”
Marshall Sugden, CEO at Packetts, added: “The team and I are excited about becoming part of Jensten, and look forward to taking Packetts to the next level of growth. Jensten’s flexible and caring approach meant they stood out from the crowd and made them the obvious choice as our new owner.”
Hardie said plans were well-advanced to complete further acquisitions in the coming months.
