BGL and Auto Windscreens develop new claims process

Personal lines intermediary BGL Insurance has launched a digital claims portal with Auto Windscreens, which will see it manage all vehicle glass claims across all the motor insurance brands for which BGL arranges and administers car and van insurance. This covers more than 3 million motorists.

The new system allows customers to report a glass claim via their motor insurance portal, with data including policy number, car registration, and insurer, securely transferred to the Auto Windscreens booking system in real time.

Mark Townsend, managing director of motor and home at BGL Insurance, said: “Since the summer, we’ve already handled over 21,000 glass claims from customers and with winter approaching, this will only increase.

“With glass generally the area that customers need to claim against the most and with windscreen repairs increasingly getting more complex with vehicle and tech advancements, we are delighted to have significantly enhanced our process in conjunction with Auto Windscreens to offer customers a rapid and simple experience.”
