Lloyd’s is urging members not to attend its annual general meeting on 19th May in person, but to join the event virtually, due to an increased threat of disruption from climate protesters.
Bruce Carnegie-Brown, chairman of the Society of Lloyd’s, said: “To ensure the safety and security of our members and to allow the meeting to proceed in an orderly and fair manner, it is with regret that I must now strongly encourage all members attending the AGM to join virtually and not to attempt to enter the Lloyd’s Building on that day.
“Instructions on joining the meeting virtually can be found within your original invitation and the AGM Guidance Document referenced within.
“While there will be an opportunity to submit questions during the meeting, I would again encourage members to submit their questions in advance, where possible.”
