BIBA announces several board-level changes

BIBA has announced changes to its main board with Carl Evans stepping down as chair of the Large Brokers’ Advisory Board to be replaced by Marsh’s Alistair Fraser (pictured).

Evans, who is chair of professional risks division of Griffiths & Armour, is stepping down as chair of the LBAB and his role – as well as his place on BIBA’s main board – will be taken by Alistair Fraser, international corporate and commercial leader at Marsh.

Fraser said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chair of LBAB and taking a seat on the main board of BIBA. I am looking forward to working with my fellow board members to help BIBA advise all relevant stakeholders on the key insurance issues facing its members and their customers. The role of insurance brokers and the importance of the broking industry is critical in an ever more changing, complicated and risk orientated world. I cannot wait to get started.”

Phil Williams, group chief commercial officer & managing director of retail at Clear Group replaces Fraser as deputy chair of the LBAB. Graeme Trudgill, BIBA CEO, added: “I have always been proud that our members play such an active role in the governance of BIBA through our advisory boards and in our various committees. Having such influential figures as Alistair and Phil join LBAB has been really beneficial, and I am sure they will continue to make a real difference in their new roles.

“Our structure limits the time that anyone can remain on our boards, and I am always sorry to see brokers stepping down. Carl has given us five years of inspiration, dedication and service as well has helping us to navigate Covid and its fall out. I am delighted he will still be active on the ‘back- benches’ of BIBA sharing his knowledge and experience.”
