Curtain falls on Premier Insurance Company’s policies

The cover provided by Premier Insurance Company Limited policies will come to an end on 1st December. The announcement comes after the carrier was placed into administration on 14th October. The motor insurer had more than 16,000 policyholders and was regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission.

Freddie White and Bradley Chadwick of Grant Thornton Link are acting as joint administrators for the company.

In a statement, the Financial Conduct Authority, said: “The joint administrators have chosen to formally end remaining insurance policies on 1st December 2025 as part of the administration process. This can happen during insolvency proceedings.”

The FCA said brokers may have already contacted customers to alert them that their cover was coming to an end and highlighted the need to put replacement cover in place.

The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission said Premier Insurance Company Limited had initially been licensed on 4th December 2008 under the Financial Services (Insurance Companies) Act 1987 and latterly the Financial Services Act 2019.
