FCA warns of JL Insurance Solutions clone

The Financial Conduct Authority has warned of a fraudulent firm operating as a clone of JL Insurance Solutions Ltd, which is an appointed representative of the Gauntlet network. The genuine business does not have a website, but fraudsters have created an online presence that claims to be the real firm’s site. The FCA warned that the website for Limitless Cover was also fake, despite it claiming to be a trading name of JL Insurance Solutions Ltd.

The FCA said limitlesscover.co.uk and jlinsurancesolutionsltd.co.uk were both cloned websites and highlighted the following emails as being fake: accessibility@limitlesscover.co.uk, support@limitlesscover.co.uk, complaints@limitlesscover.co.uk and media@limitlesscover.co.uk.

Both websites claim to offer a range of motor insurance policies, including cover for non-standard risks. They also claim to have more than 120,000 active policies.

The FCA said: “Limitless Cover (clone of FCA registered firm) is not authorised or registered by the FCA but has been targeting people in the UK, claiming to be an authorised firm.”

The FCA urged anyone who suspected they had been contacted by a fake firm to report it to them as soon as possible.
