Consilium launches complex commercial binding facility

Specialty re/insurance broker Consilium has launched a new underwriting platform – Scriptus – that offers brokers access to a complex commercial binding facility. Covers available include commercial combined, contractors combined, combined liabilities, property, CAR and plant and excess of loss. Trades covered include civil engineers, precision engineers, groundworkers and building contractors and allied trades.

Matt Pini, managing partner, risk solutions at Consilium, said: “Often when people think of binders they think of smaller risks, but our binder will consider risks of all shapes and sizes. And in the rare case it doesn’t fit under our binder, one advantage of being part of Consilium with our wide market relationships, means we will still be able to find it a home.”

He added: “We are bringing much-needed innovation, expertise, capacity and service to retail brokers to help them differentiate their offering and place the broadest range of commercial risks.”

Luke Browne leads Scriptus, having joined from managing general agent Dual last year. The platform aims to minimise referrals by maintaining significant levels of in-house delegated authority.
