Mazda has done a deal with Wrisk, which will enable the car manufacturer to offer subscription-based insurance to new and used Mazda buyers as well as existing owners. The insurance stipulates that Mazda approved accident repair centres and body shops will carry out necessary repairs.
The brand offers a five-day complimentary cover when drivers purchase a vehicle. Once registered for the driveaway cover, they will then receive a quote for monthly subscription insurance which they can activate online. The cover carries no charges to make changes, renew or cancel.
Existing Mazda owners will also be eligible for the cover and can access it from the manufacturer’s website. There are currently more than 250,000 Mazda cars on the UK’s roads.
Jeremy Thomson, managing director, Mazda Motors UK, said: “Wrisk is widely recognised within the insurance services sector for its innovative industry leading approach with a strong focus on customer-centric solutions. We believe this new partnership will further enhance our ability to offer best-in-class products.
“Mazda Insurance now empowers our customers to pay by a monthly subscription, rather than the traditional model of an annual premium or hefty additional charges for paying monthly.”
Robert Cottrell, vice president commercial at Wrisk, added: “Our digital-first, legacy-free platform was built for the automotive sector so will ensure that Mazda can provide a compelling insurance proposition for new and used car customers, while also supporting aftersales opportunities for Mazda’s dealers and repairers.”
