Short-term car insurance provider Zixty has struck a deal with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, which will see it featured on the DVSA’s theory test app, which has more than 300,000 monthly active users.
Zixty says its short-term cover options range from one hour up to 28 days and offer learners the option of getting cover for private driving practice sessions without the vehicle owner having to amend their own policy or risk having to make a claim in the event of an accident.
Andy James, CEO of Zixty, said: “We are incredibly proud to be working with DVSA in this exclusive long-term deal. Learning to drive has become expensive for many young people and private practice is now an increasingly popular choice for thousands of learners either instead of, or to supplement, formal tuition.
“Zixty makes that easier, more flexible and more affordable. Whether it’s an hour in a parent’s car, a weekend of extra driving before test day, or short-term cover after passing, our aim is to help young drivers gain real-world experience safely and responsibly.”
Zixty is currently developing its own app to provide drivers with insights into their driving behaviour from its telematics data and technology.
