Gallagher acquires broker Parisco

Gallagher has announced the acquisition of Oslo-based marine and energy broker Parisco AS. Founded in 2001, Parisco is a marine and energy broker serving contractors, offshore service vessels, exploration and production companies, shipping, passenger vessels and renewable energy clients. CEO Dag Magne Torjussen and his team of 10 will join forces with Oslo-based Bergvall Marine, Gallagher’s existing specialist marine broker in Norway, under the direction of managing director Anders Mjaaland.

Vyvienne Wade, chairperson for Europe Middle East & Asia, said of the deal: “We have ambitious international expansion plans, in particular for businesses that complement our existing areas of expertise and that are culturally aligned to Gallagher and our focus on client service and ethics.”

“Parisco is a respected specialist marine and energy broker, and is an excellent fit with both Bergvall and Gallagher. Its portfolio of specialisms are highly complementary to Bergvall’s existing business lines, and provides us with additional scale in the Nordic region. The team’s expertise in renewables will be highly beneficial as existing clients diversify further into sustainable energy and we grow our client base across Northern Europe.”

Torjussen said: “I am very pleased that Parisco is now part of Gallagher. Partnering with Bergvall and becoming part of a global broker will enable us to take the business to its next stage of evolution, and will add broader capabilities, deeper industry expertise, and even greater access to international markets.”
