Final DAS UK results published by ARAG

DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company has reported gross written premium income of £141.4m for 2024, up from the £139.3m achieved in 2023. Its combined operating ratio was 97.1%, up from the 95.6% recorded in 2023. It made a loss after tax of £4m, adding to the loss on £1.1m the previous year.

DAS UK cited strengthening reserves and integration costs following its acquisition by ARAG Group as contributing factors. The deal completed last year and this is the final time it will report under the DAS name.

David Haynes, chief executive officer at ARAG, said: “These final results for DAS UK show how we continued to grow the business throughout the integration. Alongside the impressive 18% growth over the same period reported earlier this year by ARAG plc, they confirm our rationale for the acquisition and how successfully the integration has progressed.”

He added: “That progress has continued in 2025 which has started very positively and I’m confident that ARAG’s long-term commitment to steady and stable growth will be maintained."
