Admiral makes £80m swoop for Flock

Admiral Group has agreed to acquire digital commercial fleet insurance provider Flock for £80m in a deal that is subject to regulatory approval. Admiral said the acquisition would expand its product offering and enhance its existing capabilities across data and technology, distribution, pricing and claims, customer service and risk management.

Admiral’s relationship with Flock goes back to 2024 when its venture building business – Admiral Pioneer – partnered with Flock to increase the group’s focus on the commercial motor market.

Following the transaction, Flock’s team and technology platform will become part of Admiral’s telemetry fleet insurance proposition. Ed Leon Klinger, CEO of Flock, will join Admiral Pioneer’s leadership team.

Emma Huntington, CEO of Admiral Pioneer, said: “This acquisition will give us immediate access to a high-growth segment, proven technology and a scalable platform.”

Leon Klinger added: “Over the last decade, we pioneered a dramatically different approach to the industry, using real-time data and AI to reward safer driving habits, and reduce fleet customers’ costs.

“I am incredibly proud of the Flock team for what they have achieved. This acquisition by Admiral is a momentous day for us. It brings together Admiral’s scale and expertise with our talented people and technology.”
