Intermediary Atec Group has transferred its portfolio of 140,000 add-on policyholders from provider Arc to Addept Insurance Services. The book of business includes policies for legal expenses, home emergency, rent guarantee, family legal protection, property owners’ legal expenses and commercial legal protection.
Under the terms of the agreement, in-force policies will continue to renew with Arc, but all new policies and future renewals will transition to Addept.
Richard Finan founded Addept Insurance Services in 2024 after purchasing and rebranding Policywise Limited. He was also a founder and former director of Arc Legal Assistance.
Finan said: “Atec is closely aligned with Addept; the partnership promises significant mutual opportunity to grow, delivering new and responsive solutions to the needs of today’s brokers and their customers.
“By combining Atec’s distribution strength and data insight with Addept’s product expertise, we see significant opportunity to create differentiated solutions, unlock new segments and deliver consistent, long-term value to the market.”
James O’Hara, commercial director at Atec, added: “We’re delighted to announce this partnership with Addept. Their breadth and depth of product capability is a strong fit with Atec’s strategic direction, particularly as we continue to expand into SME and other non-standard risks.”
