McKenzie Intelligence Services has launched a COVID-19-specific incident dashboard designed to help claims teams, exposure managers and loss adjusters deal with the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The imagery and geospatial intelligence consultancy firm said the new real-time, interactive dashboard maps the impact COVID-19 is having, and includes data on travel restrictions, supply chain disruption, social and economic regulatory change, government advice, cancelled events and the overall spread of the virus resulting in movement restrictions.
The COVID-19 intelligence dashboard has been modelled on the company’s existing geospatial data intelligence and imagery natural catastrophe portal MIS-Intel and was developed rapidly following initial discussions with Lloyd’s market participants.
The tool is intended to help claims teams handling any affected class of business understand the situation on the ground at the time the claim occurred, including claims for property business interruption, denial of access, event contingency and liability.
“We sense claims will begin to arrive en masse, stretching teams that are now geographically disparate and adapting to new working practices,” said Vicky Mills, chief product officer at MIS.
Forbes McKenzie, founder and chief executive of MIS, added: “Thanks to the detailed intelligence we’re gathering from our trusted team of experts in both claims processes and infectious disease mapping and response, we hope to make an important difference to claims teams and exposure managers as they continue to map the impact of COVID-19.”
