Global Risk Partners has acquired private client broker Gauntlet Insurance Services, for an undisclosed amount.

The London-based firm specialises in the insurance of town and country houses, fine art collections, jewellery, farms and estates, prestige vehicles and yachts. It covers assets valued at over £8bn.

The deal sees all the broker’s staff and management remain with the business under the new ownership, including directors Harry Fitzalan Howard, Steve Buckingham and Simon Aitken. Fitzalan Howard and Buckingham will become chairman and managing director respectively.

Fitzalan Howard commented: “In GRP we have found the ideal partner to continue our development and to further enhance our service proposition. I am excited about the future opportunities for Gauntlet as part of GRP.”

The London broker will retain its standalone status within GRP’s retail division, under the overall leadership of group managing director, Mike Bruce.
